Ukraine is strengthening its forces in the eastern part of the country against the backdrop of the Russian offensive there, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
In a televised address this evening, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian army had figured out Russia's plans in the Pokrov direction and had taken the necessary measures accordingly.
Recently, Russian armed forces have been advancing on Pokrovsk, a city with a key location in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region. They are continuing their advance there despite the Ukrainian military operation in Kursk Oblast, southern Russia.
Today, Zelensky said that the Ukrainian attack in the Russian border region continues. The Ukrainian armed forces control some areas in the Kursk region, he announced, without giving details.
Zelensky called on Ukraine's partners to respect the schedules for the delivery of ammunition to its army.
