A unit of the Rostov NPP in southern Russia was disconnected from the power grid due to a damaged turbine, it was reported today the Russian state corporation for nuclear energy "Rosatom", quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.

The corporation did not give details about the problem, but assured that immediately after the repair, the unit will be ready to be turned on again. The other two power units in the nuclear power plant are currently operating.

The Rostov NPP is the largest power plant in southern Russia, with a capacity of 4,071 megawatts. It provides about three-quarters of the electricity in the Rostov region and is connected to the power grid of other southern Russian regions.
