US will defend Israel in case of an Iranian attack, said the spokesman of the White House for national security issues, John Kirby, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.
In front of the Israeli TV "Channel 12" the US representative said that it is difficult to make predictions about a possible Iranian attack, but added that the White House takes Iranian rhetoric in this direction as serious.
"We believe they are still prepared and ready to launch an attack if they want to do so, which is why we are improving our power posture in the region,” he said.
„Our messages to Iran are, have been and will remain consistent. The first message is: Don't do it. There is no reason to escalate. There is no reason to potentially start any kind of regional war. And the second message is: We will be ready to defend Israel if it comes to that," Kirby said.
