An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 shook Salvador, according to initial data there are no victims and destruction, the Geophysical Institute of USA, quoted by Associated Press and BTA.
The quake, whose epicenter was 60 km from the western coastal department of La Libertad, was felt across much of the Central American country. The earthquake was followed by two strong aftershocks with a magnitude of 4.1 and 4.5, wrote in "Ex" Salvadoran President Naib Bukele.
The earthquake was also felt quite noticeably in neighboring Guatemala.
According to a message shared by Bukele, there is no danger of a tsunami following the tremors.
"Thank God, so far there are no casualties and destruction," he wrote. "There are no violations in services and road traffic."
