The administration of the President of the United States Joe Biden rejected the military's proposal to send American contractors to Ukraine to service Western military equipment, The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported, citing American officials.
The intelligence community believes it is too risky to send American contractors to maintain equipment, including F-16 fighter jets. Washington hopes European countries will "take most of the responsibility" for the maintenance of the F-16.
At the same time, the administration has not ruled out sending American contractors to Ukraine in the future, the WSJ points out.
