Jill Biden: Vote! - 1

New York Fashion Week opened with a call to vote in the upcoming November election by the American first lady Jill Biden, reported France Press, quoted by BTA.

The call was made during an event organized by the Fashion Industry Union of America. The manifestation took the form of a march. During it, the first lady stated: "I know you are concerned about the freedom to make your voice heard, to be who you are, to love who you love. I know you are concerned about your freedom to create. These liberties are threatened by the decisions of justice, the banning of books, the apathetic shrugging of shoulders when people forget the power of the vote." About 1,000 people from the fashion industry attended the event.

"Remember that the next president, your next president will likely appoint new Supreme Court justices, your future senators will confirm them, and our children and our grandchildren will have to live with the consequences of those decisions,'' she added.

During the event, Jill Biden also thanked the head editor of Vogue magazine. Anna Wintour, who organized a fundraiser for the Democratic Party candidates for the US presidential elections.

At the same time, the heads of over 90 companies, as well as former CEOs of "Pepsi", "Ford" and "Uhu", have endorsed US Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race. The support was expressed in a letter published today, Reuters reported.

Separately, more than 100 current and retired law enforcement lawyers have also endorsed Harris in her race against Republican presidential nominee former head of state Donald Trump. They cite Harris' experience as a prosecutor
and its commitment to curbing gun violence.

Companies, including the heads of leading sports and investment companies, said they were confident the Democrat would continue to boost the economy and preserve American democracy.
