North Korea has launched hundreds more rubbish balloons towards South Korea, it said today the South Korean army, quoted by France Press, writes BTA.

This is another in a series of similar cases.

Pyongyang released about 190 balloons on Friday night, the South Korean military's general staff said. About a hundred of these balloons have already landed on South Korean territory, mainly in the northern part of South Korea.

The balloons contained "mostly paper and plastic waste," the South Korean military said in a statement.

This latest balloon release by the DPRK comes amid a visit to South Korea by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who held talks with South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol yesterday.

Since the following May, Pyongyang has released nearly 5,000 balloons towards South Korea, claiming that these actions were in response to balloons with propaganda materials that South Korean activists released in the direction of North Korea, notes AFP.
