Ukraine uses drones to attack military installations in Russia, but they have never hit its civilian infrastructure.
This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the international economic forum "Ambrosetti". in Italy, quoted by "Ukrainska Pravda".
He arrived in the Italian resort town of Cernobbio, on the shores of Lake Como in Lombardy, northern Italy, from Germany, where earlier in the day he attended a meeting of defense ministers from countries that are allies of Ukraine. On it, he once again urged them to send him even more weapons.
In Italy, he is due to meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who is expected to arrive in Chernobyl on Sunday morning, when she will address forum participants.
"There are countries, like Italy, who are afraid that we will attack the Kremlin, but we, unfortunately, cannot do it. Because the long-range strike weapons you or your partners give us are only within a radius of 200 kilometers," Zelensky pointed out and appealed to the West to help Ukraine carry out long-range strikes on Russia, such as on Russian military airfields at a range of up to 300 kilometers.
He added that Moscow drops about 4,000 bombs each month during operations in eastern Ukraine, which are launched from aircraft based at military airfields. "And Russia will continue to devastate Ukrainian villages and cities,", the Ukrainian president pointed out.
He repeated several times that Ukraine uses its own drones, which it manufactures, not directing them at objects of Russia's civil infrastructure. Zelensky pointed out that Russian citizens are their opponents because they support Putin's regime, but despite this, Ukrainians have never targeted Russian civilian infrastructure.
Zelensky was adamant that in order to participate in any negotiations, Ukraine must be in a strong position. And to do that, she needs the support of her allies.
