Last night, residents of the Romanian districts of Tulcea and Constanta received a warning through the Ro-Alert system about the possibility of objects falling from the air, Digi24 reported, quoted by BTA.
„Keep calm. Take shelter in basements or civil defense shelters. In the absence of shelter, stay indoors, away from windows and exterior walls. Estimated duration: 90 minutes”, says the text of the message sent just before three in the morning.
Digi24 notes that for the first time such a message was also sent to the County of Constanta. So far, the residents of Tulcea, Braila and Galats have received similar warnings.
„The message was sent after the national defense and security structures detected a possible attack by the Russian Federation against some targets on the territory of Ukraine, near the border with Romania. It warns the population about the possibility of objects falling from the airspace and about the measures to hide if the situation requires it, said the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Tulca. They emphasized that these messages aim to inform the population in the border area of Romania.
Local media recall that last year, Romania repeatedly reported the discovery of debris from Russian drones on its territory after attacks on Ukrainian facilities on the opposite bank of the Danube River.
