One of the reasons why US President Joe Biden does not show a full military help to Ukraine is that it is afraid of the collapse of Russia, writes the Ukrainian publication ZN.ua, citing sources. Beijing can benefit from such a scenario.
Biden has long been able to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons that would strategically improve the situation on the battlefield, but the White House has consistently ignored this opportunity.
The White House fears that the collapse of Russia as a result of losing the war against Ukraine could lead to the return of territories annexed by Russia before the 20th century to Chinese control.
Washington is guided by several military-technical and political motives in this matter, the possibility of expanding the war on the territory of NATO countries or the nuclear threat are not the main ones. American politicians and military officials fear that excessive transfers of equipment and ammunition to Ukraine could deplete the Pentagon's stockpile, leaving the United States unprepared for conflicts elsewhere on the planet, such as in the Pacific or the Middle East.
Furthermore, the political tradition of the United States suggests that no decisions are made before the presidential election that could tie the hands of the future head of state.
Washington still adheres to the strategy until 2022, according to which the war should continue only on the territory of Ukraine. The publication adds that Biden adheres to the view of Russia formed back in the 1970s, when the USSR was a strong adversary that the United States tried not to irritate.
Although the US is providing weapons to Kiev, military analysts point out that it is deliberately not giving the Ukrainian army a specific type of weapons. In addition, the ban on using American munitions against military bases on Russian territory is still in force. This is a ban that is illogical and that Kiev has long wanted to be lifted.
