Melania on the assassination attempt against Donald Trump: There is much more to this story - 1

Melania Trump cast doubt on officials' explanations about the attempted assassination of her husband, former President Donald Trump, saying that the truth must come out and that there is definitely more to this story.

In a new video Melania Trump posted on her social media account, she said the July 13 shooting in Pennsylvania that left one dead and the former president wounded in the ear was "terrible. and an unsettling experience," writes Politico.

She admits that the silence that followed also weighs on her. She wonders why law enforcement officers didn't arrest the shooter before Trump gave his speech?

"There is definitely more to this story. And we need to get the truth out," Melania Trump said, adding that the 20-year-old gunman managed to fire several rounds from a nearby rooftop before being killed by law enforcement.

For the first time, the former first lady commented in more depth on the assassination attempt. After the attack, she released a lengthy statement thanking Secret Service agents; and the law enforcement agencies that protected her husband, and called on Americans to "rise above hate".

She added that the tender connective tissue of America has been torn apart, but the nation must find the courage and common sense to put it back together.

Melania Trump made her comment about the assassination after various conspiracy theories and a powerful disinformation campaign began to spread around the shooter and the attack. The fact is, however, that after investigators in the case have studied in detail the biography of the shooter and the online history on his computer, they still cannot find the motive for which the 20-year-old man decided to shoot Trump.

After the shooting, Congress also launched an investigation into why security communications were disrupted, allowing the gunman to fire a series of fatal shots from a rooftop near the stage where Trump was speaking.

Congressman Mike Kelly, who chairs the bipartisan House task force investigating the assassination attempt, hopes to hold his first public hearing in the coming weeks.

The former head of the "Secret Service" Kimberly Cheatle and her co-workers were put under intense scrutiny after the shooting, and she later resigned.

Politico reports that Melania Trump is in the process of promoting her memoir Melania, which will be released by Skyhorse Publishing on October 8.

She has been largely absent from her husband's campaign, although she did appear on the final night of the Republican National Convention, but did not address the crowd.

On Monday (September 9), Melania Trump released a short video in which she recalled the 2020 election, which her husband lost:

"The results of the 2020 election changed our lives forever. It's affected our quality of life, it's affected our food and gas prices, it's affected our safety and even our geopolitical landscape," Melania Trump continued.

"Today, America is more divided than ever. It is also more evident than ever that there are significant challenges to free speech. This is also seen in the efforts aimed at silencing my husband," Melania Trump continues.

Politico commented that it was unclear exactly what she meant, although they noted that Donald Trump is still subject to a partial arrest warrant and is awaiting sentencing for bribery.

Regarding her memoir, Politico explains that Melania Trump writes about her childhood in Slovenia, about the key moments in her life that led her to the world of high fashion in Europe, and then to New York, where in a chance meeting she meets Donald Trump and it changes the course of her life forever.

Melania Trump admits in a video dedicated to her book that trying to write a memoir is a deeply personal and reflective journey.

"As a private person who has often been the subject of public scrutiny and misrepresentation in public, I feel I have a responsibility to get the facts straight," Melania adds and concludes: "I believe it is important to share my point of view . The truth."
