Ships of the Chinese and Russian navies conducted artillery fire in the Sea of Japan as part of an exercise, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported, quoted by TASS.
„Ships of the Russian Navy and the Chinese Navy in the Sea of Japan conducted artillery fire at sea and air targets during the strategic command and staff exercise “Ocean-2024”, the announcement said.
The Russo-Chinese warship detachment is practicing sailing in various formations, organizing anti-aircraft defense, as well as anti-submarine and mine defense. Acting under unified command, the ships' crews repelled an air attack on a model enemy aircraft, crossed a mine-hazardous area and destroyed a floating sea mine.
Russian and Chinese sailors have also trained to combat high-speed unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles and conducted night firings at maritime targets.
The joint Russian-Chinese warship group includes three corvettes and auxiliary ships of the Pacific Fleet, and two squadron destroyers, a frigate and a supply ship have been deployed on the Chinese side.
