After the strategic meeting in the White House! The Pentagon may not have enough missiles to defeat the Ukrainian army - 1

The American publication Politico cautiously assumes that the outcome of the meeting in Washington between US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will most likely be in favor of Ukraine - Kiev will be allowed to strike with Western missiles deep in Russian territory.

The publication writes that although the talks between Starmer and Biden are surrounded by secrecy and no one is commenting, the latest statements by senior officials can lead to a conclusion about the mood of the leaders of the United States and Great Britain.

In particular, Politico cited national security adviser Jake Sullivan as saying back in June that the White House was working to agree on the details of lifting the restrictions.

"It's not about geography. It's about common sense. If Russia attacks or is about to attack Ukraine from its territory, it makes sense to allow Ukraine to strike back," he said.

However, the publication writes, good intentions may run into another problem: a shortage of weapons.

According to official data, the US military is no longer buying ATACMS missiles, their stocks are limited and are approaching the level where the US military will start to feel their shortage.

Missile maker Lockheed Martin still produces several hundred ATACMS a year, but plans to sell them to allies overseas.

The weapon's replacement, the Precision Strike Missile, is just beginning to enter service and is in extremely short supply, Politico reports.
