Only these two countries will survive a nuclear war - 1

With the start of full-scale war in Ukraine in February 2022, the danger of nuclear war has also increased. Russian President Vladimir Putin never tires of threatening Ukraine and the West with a nuclear strike. The Kremlin and its entire power apparatus repeatedly emphasize Russia's nuclear superiority.

But what are our chances of survival if nuclear war does break out? Investigative journalist Annie Jacobson, who has spent years studying the effects of nuclear war, explained on The Diary of A CEO podcast that there are only two countries in the world that would survive a nuclear war: Australia and New Zealand, reports news .de.

According to the expert, about five billion people will die in the first 72 hours of a nuclear war. The remaining three billion people will struggle for survival. The world would literally burn and the thick smoke would cause a miniature ice age that would make it impossible for humans to grow food.

Most of the world, especially the mid-latitudes, will be covered by a layer of ice. Places like Iowa State and Ukraine will be nothing but...snow. Many people will die due to the nuclear winter and resulting food shortages. Added to this is the radiation that is deadly for man and nature.

According to her, the only places where it will still be possible to practice agriculture after a nuclear winter are Australia and New Zealand. The reasons are purely geographical.

According to Statista.de, Russia has 4,489 nuclear warheads, making it the power with the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. It is enough to destroy our planet several times over. For comparison: the US has the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world with 3,708 active warheads.
