Vladimir Putin will lose a war against NATO in 3 days and he understands very well why he would not dare to start one. This was stated by investor and political activist Bill Browder, Huffington Post writes.
Browder, who was the largest foreign investor in Russia until 2005, when he was declared a national security threat and denied entry to the country – believes that concerns about escalation are exaggerated.
Fears that the West could be drawn into a direct conflict with Moscow have grown recently as Ukraine's allies consider allowing Kiev to fire its long-range missiles at targets on Russian soil. Bill Browder, like other political and military analysts, says that Kiev should be given this logical right, and that the Kremlin's nuclear threats are a bluff aimed at intimidating Western countries with a potential nuclear war.
„Putin thought he could win the war with Ukraine in three days, and now it's been two and a half years,” Bill Browder told Times Radio. He pointed out that if he started a war against NATO, Putin would lose it in three days, so he won't do it.
NATO is a defensive military alliance that does not want to be drawn into a war against Russia (despite Russian propaganda to the contrary), but at the same time it is a powerful military force that in a future war will have 3.4 million active military personnel personnel and the most advanced weapons in the world. By comparison, Russia has fewer than 1.5 million soldiers in its military.
„Anyone who understands military strategy knows that Putin is not going to do that [start a war against NATO]. In effect, we have two different types of people involved in the decision [whether to allow Kiev to attack Russia with Western long-range weapons]. You have the military saying we have to give Ukraine what it needs. And we have non-military men, politicians who are analysts, not soldiers, who hide under their desks and don't want to be the ones to take any risk that would advance Ukraine's interests,” Bill Browder said.
He is extremely disappointed by the indecision of the US and other Western countries to allow Ukraine what it has been asking for months and to which it is entitled under international treaties – to defend itself by attacking and destroying Russian military bases that are used for daily terror against Ukrainian infrastructure and civilian population.
It seems crazy that Ukraine has a certain type of missiles, but cannot use them to their full potential and practically cannot attack Russia, which in February 2022 launched an unprovoked full-scale war.
Commenting on the Kremlin's constant threats to turn the war in Ukraine into a global nuclear war, Bill Browder said: “Putin has already done everything we fear he will do. The only thing it can do more is launch a nuclear attack. But if he does that, he ends up losing his alliance with China, losing his alliance with India, and there will certainly be a devastating response from NATO”. India and China have warned Moscow that the use of nuclear weapons is not a scenario they will support.
