The second most important problem after Ukraine - 1

The problem of radicalization of migrants in Europe and the rise of crime has become the second most important for the EU after the conflict in Ukraine . This assessment was made by the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen.

„Given the scale of crime, the radicalization of migrants and the lack of stability in our societies, we must, unfortunately, be quite tough on migration,” the Prime Minister said in an interview with ag. Bloomberg. “In my opinion, after Ukraine, this is the number one problem,”, she added.

According to the Prime Minister of Denmark, the European Union “should have changed the rules and legislation a long time ago” on migrants. She stressed that EU countries “should be able to tell [migrants that they must] leave the EU” if they commit serious crimes.

In August, the European edition Politico reported that the problem of illegal migration will be back on the agenda in the European Union after the terrorist attack on a festival in Germany, carried out by a refugee from Syria. The publication's source indicated that a number of EU countries have requested more decisive measures to combat illegal migration. In particular, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni insisted on this. The newspaper notes that the measures taken by the European Union to fight migration are not enough, and the pact signed by the EU on migration and asylum, which includes tightening all relevant EU norms, will only come into force in two years.
