Brazil and China are proposing a plan of six points for starting negotiations between Russia and Ukraine to end the conflict between them, reports Reuters.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said he had discussed the issue with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, but gave no further details.
During the opening of the UN General Assembly, he warned that the conflict in Gaza was dangerously expanding into Lebanon. Lula called for a ceasefire in the Middle East.
