The US may announce a new military aid package for Ukraine on Wednesday, which will include air-to-surface missiles for the F-16 fighter jets, Voice of America reports.
According to media sources, the total price of the weapons that will be included in the new package will reach 375 million dollars. This will be the largest package for Ukraine from the USA since May.
The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters that the package would include missiles for the F-16 to attack ground targets. Such missiles will allow Ukrainian F-16s to operate far from the front line and Russian air defense systems.
In addition, as VoA sources specify, the package will include projectiles for HIMARS, patrol boats and armored vehicles, as well as 105- and 155-mm projectiles and TOW missiles.
Such assistance would be provided under the President's arms reduction authority. In this case, they will be handed over to Ukraine from the US stockpile.
