Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga and his Hungarian colleague Peter Szijjártó discussed ways to achieve lasting peace, to punish Russia and implement President Volodymyr Zelensky's Victory Plan. The two first diplomats announced this at a press conference during Sibiga's visit to Budapest, reported Ukrinform, quoted by BTA.

Sibiga pointed out that the main issue discussed was Russia's unprovoked full-scale war against Ukraine and the ways to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace, restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, and holding Moscow accountable for the atrocities committed in Ukraine, including the crime of aggression.

He informed Szijjártó about the situation at the front and in the temporarily occupied lands and thanked Hungary for its support for the 14 EU sanctions packages against Russia and the humanitarian aid provided, Ukrinform notes.

Kiev also welcomes Budapest's participation in the projects for the reconstruction of Ukraine, the Hungarian side's support for Ukrainians in Hungary, the training of military medics and the inclusion of Budapest in the Anti-Mine Coalition, Sibiga added.

The parties also discussed the Peace Formula and Zelensky's Victory Plan. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister expressed hope that Hungary will continue to support Kyiv's initiatives and contribute to their rapid implementation.

The private talks lasted about an hour, twice as long as planned. After that, negotiations took place in an extended format with the participation of the delegations.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Sibiga is visiting Hungary for bilateral talks with his Hungarian counterpart Szijjártó.

The head of the presidential office in Kyiv Andriy Yermak announced that the Victory Plan for Ukraine will soon be made public, except for some confidential details of it.
