The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said that more than 40 foreign operators of "Boeing" 737 aircraft (Boeing 737) are likely to be using planes with steering system components that pose a safety risk, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

Last week, the board issued an emergency safety advisory due to the possibility of the steering system on some "Boeing" 737 aircraft jamming. The advisory was prompted by an incident in February in which the pedals of a "Boeing" 737-8 aircraft operated by "United Airlines" (United Airlines) with 161 people on board "stuck" in neutral during landing at Newark.

The FAA said on Monday it had received reports that two foreign operators had experienced similar incidents with the steering wheel controls in 2019.

"We are concerned that other airlines may not be aware of the presence of these actuators on their 737s," said FAA President Jennifer Homendi. Boeing shares fell 2.7% on Monday, Reuters reported.
