< p>Russian President Vladimir Putin signed two laws on Wednesday that will exempt from criminal liability the accused who signed a contract for military service, reported "BBC".
The consequences of the enactment of these two laws are that Russians who have committed a crime will be able to avoid prison - but risking their health and lives in the war.
In form, the two laws are changes to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law on Military Debt and Military Service.
Until now, prisoners in Russia were recruited for the war in Ukraine - first for pardon after six months in the war, and then, only to replace the sentence with a suspended one.
Now, with the entry into force of the new laws, those who do not yet have a conviction will also be able to register. According to the text of the laws, this new practice will apply during mobilization, martial law or wartime.
