Russian troops captured the Ukrainian the city of Ugledar in the Donetsk region, confirmed the Ministry of Defense of Russia, writes BTA.
Ukrainian troops were earlier ordered to withdraw from the frontline city in eastern Ukraine to avoid being surrounded by Russian forces.
As a result of Russian military action, more than a quarter of a million residents have been left without water in the northern part of Ukraine's Donetsk region, regional governor Vadim Filashkin announced in the "Telegram" app, quoted by DPA.
Filashkin stated that the cities of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka and nearby settlements were affected. About 260,000 people are left without water.
Two facilities of the regional water services suffered serious damage on September 25 and it is not possible to restore the water supply, Filashkin said. Alternatives are being sought.
The number of civilians killed in Russian shelling in the Chernihiv region has increased to three, including a child. The attack was carried out against the Ukrainian border village of Hirsk, injuring four people, the city council of Snovsk reported, as quoted by Ukrinform.
