In the Kursk operation on Russian territory, Ukraine is losing its best soldiers. This was stated to "Espresso" TV. the military expert Ivan Stupak.
To date, Ukraine controls up to 1,000 square kilometers of territory in the Kursk region, but there is no progress due to the fierce resistance of the Russians, said the military, former SBU official (2004-2015).
„There (in the Kursk region) the best amphibious assault units are located, as well as units of “Alfa” to the SBU and various special units of the Main Intelligence Directorate, but there are no new achievements due to fierce resistance, explained Ivan Stupak. He noted that the armed forces of Ukraine are suffering losses in Kursk and the best Ukrainian forces are stationed there.
How long the offensive will last and what its purpose is is still unknown, the expert noted.
„The president (Zelensky) said that the operation will continue, I would like to believe that he has a clear understanding of how long we have to stay there, what to hold, where to retreat or, conversely, where to take offensive actions” , Stupak said.
