More than 20 soldiers were killed as a result of a Ukrainian missile strike on October 3 in the Russian-occupied territory of Donetsk region, Kyiv Post reported.
According to sources in Ukrainian intelligence, six North Korean officers were among the dead. Three more North Korean servicemen were wounded.
As is known, Moscow and Pyongyang maintain close military-economic relations. North Korean soldiers have come to the Donetsk region to exchange experience. The missile strike was carried out near the city of Donetsk.
The Russians have demonstrated to representatives of North Korea the training of personnel for assault and defense. A limited number of engineer troops are also believed to have arrived from North Korea in the Russian-occupied territory of Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, after a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in June this year, convinced his counterpart from Pyongyang to open “diplomatic missions in Donetsk and Luhansk”.
