Industrial accidents in China are common, often due to poor safety training and lax protocols.
In January, at least eight people died in an explosion at a factory in eastern China's Jiangsu province, state media reported.
In May last year, nine people died in an explosion at a hydrogen peroxide factory in Liaocheng, also in Shandong province, where Saturday's poisoning occurred.
