Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said on Monday that Israel deliberately chose to expand its aggression to fulfill a pre-planned plan in the West Bank and Lebanon, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Israel did this "because it sees that there is an opportunity," Al Thani added in his annual speech at the opening of the Consultative Council (Shura).
The council has legislative powers and approves general state policies and the country's budget, but has no vote in determining defense, security, economic and investment policy in Qatar, where political parties are banned.
The emir also said that the Consultative Council will propose constitutional changes that will be voted on in a referendum.
