The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights announced that it had received reports that most of the 22 victims of yesterday's Israeli strike on a building in northern Lebanon are women and children, reported Reuters.
"What we are hearing is that among the 22 killed are 12 women and two children," said the spokesman of the Commissariat, Geoffrey Lawrence, at a briefing on the attack that took place yesterday against the population center of Aitu. "We found out that a four-story building was hit. Given these circumstances, we have a real concern about compliance with international law, hence the laws of war and the principles of proportionality (in the use of force)."
The speaker called for an investigation into the case.
