NATO countries " ;they are definitely on their way" to fulfill their promise of military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 40 billion euros this year, the Secretary General of the alliance Mark Rutte said today, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
Rutte told reporters that NATO member countries have so far allocated about half of the promised funding.
"I am pleased to announce that we are firmly on track to deliver the 40 billion euros promised for next year," said Rutte. "I can announce today that NATO Allies have committed €20.9 billion in military aid to Ukraine in the first part of 2024, and Allies are on track to meet their commitments for the rest of the year," he added.
Rütte added that the new NATO mission for Ukraine in the German city of Wiesbaden will start "functioning fully" within the next few months.
