Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today addressed the EU leaders with a request for more financial and military aid before the start of the "dangerous winter", DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
"We have done our homework," Zelensky said, but added that despite Kiev's efforts to prepare for the cold months ahead, Ukraine needs additional help.
Air defense and financial support for the domestic production of weapons in Ukraine are of the most urgent need, Zelensky said upon his arrival for the summit of EU leaders in Brussels.
The EU is backing Ukraine against Russia, but Kremlin-friendly Hungary has blocked further military and financial aid to Kiev for months, DPA said.
"Your unity is also a weapon, and it is a weapon that has one meaning for all of us – safety", Zelensky said in his speech to the leaders of the bloc.
