Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibyga proposes the creation of a hub for the storage and distribution of Ukrainian grain in Oman, which would facilitate its access to markets in East Africa and Asia, reports Ukrinform, quoted by BTA.
The announcement comes after Sibiga's talks with Oman's Minister of Economy Saeed bin Mohammed bin Ahmed al-Sakry. The Ukrainian minister expressed his country's interest in developing ties with Oman in sectors such as trade, investment, food exports, renewable energy and technology.
Sibiga has proposed to the Omani side the creation of a hub for Ukrainian grains and other foodstuffs, from which they could be more easily supplied to neighboring markets. The minister emphasized that despite the ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine's port infrastructure and commercial ships, the country remains one of the guarantors of global food security.
