Putin: Ukrainian troops are surrounded. Sirsky: The truth is different - 1

Russian leader Vladimir Putin's claim at the BRICS summit that Ukrainian troops are "surrounded" in Kursk region, "doesn't correspond to the truth", wrote on "Facebook" the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army Oleksandr Sirsky, quoted by Ukrinform.

"The statement that the leader of the aggressor country made publicly at the BRICS summit regarding the encirclement of Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region does not correspond to the truth. This is outright misinformation that does not reflect the real situation," Sirski wrote.

According to the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army, the forces of Ukraine continue their active actions along the Kursk axis, undermining the enemy's combat capabilities for the third month in a row. Despite massive enemy pressure in this area, the Russians are suffering significant losses in manpower and military equipment, Sirsky said. Since August 8, Russian troops in this part of the front have suffered 17,819 casualties, including 6,662 killed in action, 10,446 wounded in action and 711 prisoners of war, he said.

The commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army said that during the same period the enemy lost 45 tanks, 256 armored fighting vehicles, 565 vehicles, 99 artillery systems and 5 multi-purpose missile launchers.

Syrsky thanked the Ukrainian soldiers for their determination, endurance and courage in all sections and directions of the front.
