The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, warned Israel that Saturday's strikes on Iranian military sites would have "bitter consequences," reported AFP.
Israel "failed to achieve its heinous goals" with these strikes, the Iranian general said. He described their imposition as a "badly made calculation" that will lead to "bitter and unimaginable consequences", reports Tasnim agency.
At the same time, Reuters reported that the Iraqi government has lodged a complaint with the Secretary-General and the UN General Assembly over the use of its airspace by Israel in the airstrikes.
The incident was described as "a flagrant violation committed by the Zionist entity, whose planes violated the airspace and sovereignty of Iraq,", notes AFP.
