The US Department of Defense said today that it will not impose new restrictions on Ukraine's use of US weapons against North Korean service members if they are fighting on Russia's side in Moscow's war against Kiev. reported Reuters and Associated Press, quoted by BTA.
The Pentagon said it could not confirm the presence of North Korean troops in Russia's Kursk region, but believed they were moving in that direction.
North Korea has sent about 10,000 troops to Russia for training to join the fighting in Ukraine "in the next few weeks," Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said.
"Our concern is growing that Russia intends to use these servicemen for combat or to support operations against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region,", Singh noted to media representatives.
