Iran warned today that it will give a “brutal response” of the Israeli attack on Iranian military sites on Saturday, stressing that Israel would “regret” about it, reported France Press.
„The recent action of the Zionist regime attacking parts of our country was a desperate act and the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond in a brutal way that will make Israel regret it,” said Mohammad Golpayaghani, a senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, quoted by the local news agency Tasnim.
He praised Iran's air defenses for “preventing the Zionist regime fighter jets from entering the country” and said the damage caused by the strikes “was minimal.
On October 26, the Israeli military publicly acknowledged for the first time that it had attacked military targets on Iranian soil, an operation presented as retaliation for Iranian missile strikes on Israel on October 1.
Israel says its strikes were aimed at missile production facilities, while Tehran downplayed the scale of the attack.
Israeli intelligence suggests that Iran is preparing an attack against Israel from the territory of Iraq in the coming days - possibly even before the presidential elections in the USA on November 5, writes the American edition “Axios” today.
The attack is expected to be carried out by Iran with a large number of drones and ballistic missiles. According to the publication, the attack by Iran-backed Iraqi insurgents is likely to be aimed at Tehran to avoid another Israeli attack on strategic targets in Iran.
