Terrorist and extremist organizations have begun to widely use modern technologies to achieve their goals, which makes the retraining of law enforcement and special services personnel particularly important. This was stated by the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, at the International Anti-Terrorist Conference in Kuwait, TASS reported, quoted by BTA.
The President emphasized that the spread of extremist ideas, the inflaming of hostility and religious conflicts in society, as well as the attraction of young people to terrorist activities, have become dangerous weapons of terrorist and extremist organizations.
„Such organizations and groups use to a large extent the possibilities of modern information technologies to achieve their destructive goals,”, noted Rahmon. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of retraining of law enforcement officers and special services, stressing the need for training and technical support.
In addition, the president explained that terrorist and extremist organizations seek to violently change the social and political order of a country. According to him, special measures, such as educational and social projects supported by economic opportunities, are needed to prevent extremism, especially among young people.
