Denmark's Minister for European Affairs Marie Bier said today in a meeting with the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Ana Brnabic in Belgrade that the future enlargement of the EU is important and that Denmark sees Serbia as part of the EU, as this will contribute to the strengthening of the European Union, states a message on the website of the Serbian Assembly, quoted by BTA.
Barnabic emphasized that Serbia is committed to its European integration and asked for Denmark's support in implementing the necessary reforms. She emphasized that the opening of the negotiation cluster 3 “Competitiveness and inclusive growth“ would be a significant motivating factor for Serbia.
The conversation emphasized the importance of the Danish presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2025, with an emphasis on Serbia's priority foreign policy goal – EU membership, the announcement states.
Burnabich and Bier also discussed parliamentary cooperation, as well as opportunities to exchange experience with Denmark in the field of environmental protection, digitization, science and research in the field of artificial intelligence.
