Hours before the presidential elections in the USA tomorrow, the candidate of the Democratic Party Kamala Harris and her rival from the Republican Party Donald Trump are holding final pre-election rallies in key states with radically different strategies, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
While Trump used dark rhetoric to describe the country's decline, Harris targeted specific groups of voters, including Gen Z, Latinos and people of Arab descent, with his slogan: “When we fight – we win“.
Vice President Harris plans to spend the day in Pennsylvania – a key state where the results are expected to be very close. A victory in Pennsylvania is seen as significant for both candidates given the state's influence in the 2016 and 2020 elections.
Harris will hold rallies in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, supported by celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Oprah Winfrey.
Former President Donald Trump will also rally supporters in Philadelphia as well as Northern California before his final appearance before voters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This state is home to many Arab Americans who are critical of the current White House administration because of its support for Israel.
According to the University of Florida Election Lab, about 78 million voters have voted in advance. This number represents almost half of the total number of votes cast in the 2020 presidential election.
Unlike four years ago, this time many registered Republicans voted early, the Election Lab reports.
U.S. voting methods include early voting at designated locations, mail-in voting and in-person voting on November 5. Each state has its own rules about deadlines and identification, with technologies ranging from hand-filled ballots to voting machines.
