The November 5, 2024 presidential election has become the the most expensive in the history of the United States, reported in "Financial Times", quoted by BTA.
To prepare for them, former US President Donald Trump and US Vice President Kamala Harris have spent a total of $3.5 billion.
According to the latest data on the funds collected by the campaign headquarters, the two candidates have managed to collect 4.2 billion dollars.
Harris is well ahead of Trump in terms of fundraising: She has raised $2.3 billion, of which $1.9 billion has been spent on the campaign. Under Trump, the amounts are more modest – 1.8 billion and 1.6 billion dollars, respectively.
Total ad spend makes up half of campaign spend. At the same time, spending in only seven "key" states totaled $1.5 billion. So only in Pennsylvania – one of the so-called swing states, where the outcome of the vote cannot be firmly predicted but is decisive for the final result, the two parties have spent $400 million on advertising, while in the 43 states that traditionally give support is for a given candidate, the amount amounts to $358 million.
