At least 8 people died and 18 people were injured in the Russian missile attack on Odessa, announced the regional governor Oleg Kiper. Among the injured is a child. Four of the injured are in serious condition. Residential buildings are burning, writes BTA.
Local Telegram channels also reported that a second missile was shot down over the city by air defense forces. It fell within the confines of a school, but did not explode.
The attack caused damage to civil infrastructure in the central part of the city, mainly to residential blocks, local channels in Telegram inform.
Bulgarians in Odesa Region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest according to the official census in Ukraine in 2001. In the city of Odesa itself live about 50-60 thousand Bulgarians. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
