NATO: We take security in the Black Sea very seriously - 1

NATO perceives the issue of security in the Black Sea region very seriously, we are ready to protect any ally. This was stated today by the Secretary General of the Pact, Mark Rutte, after a meeting with the Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu at the headquarters of the alliance in Brussels, writes BTA.

We discussed the protection of Romanian airspace, Rute pointed out, and defined the cases of Russia's violation of NATO countries' airspace as dangerous, irresponsible and unacceptable. He added that the development of air defense (air defense) capabilities remains a leading task for the alliance. The war in Ukraine showed the need for strong air defense, Rütte summarized.

The Secretary General noted that Romania has provided Ukraine with the Patriot air defense system, as well as hosting an international reinforcement battalion on the eastern flank. Rutte added that Romania exceeded the defense spending target of at least two percent of GDP.

We discussed the importance of continuing support for Ukraine, Rutte said. According to him, the war in Ukraine is developing in a dangerous direction with the sending of North Korean forces to support the Russian troops and with the help provided to Moscow by Tehran and Beijing.
