Russian forces have accelerated their advance in the northeastern part of Ukraine and crushed the best units of the Ukrainian army there. This is what the Russian Minister of Defense Andrey Belousov claims, quoted by "Reuters".
He was shown in a Defense Department video visiting a Russian command post in Ukraine manned by the military group North, where he handed out medals for bravery.
"The work we have done here at the moment crushed the best Ukrainian parts. Now the advance accelerated. We thwarted their entire campaign from 2025," Belousov pointed out.
Over the past two months, Moscow's forces have advanced at their fastest pace since March 2022. this way.
The main targets are the cities of Kurakhovo, near Dalnoye, and Pokrovsk.
Pokrovsk is the only source of coking coal for Ukraine's steel industry. According to some reports, Russian troops are currently holding positions less than 10 km from the city.
Moscow's forces, which control just under 20 percent of Ukraine's territory, also advanced north toward the logistics city of Kupyansk in Kharkiv Oblast in northeastern Ukraine.
