The armed wing of the Palestinian Islamist movement “Hamas&rdquo ; announced today the death of a hostage taken during the attacks of October 7, 2023, in a war zone in the northern part of Gaza, a claim that has not been confirmed by the Israeli army, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.
Abu Obeida, a spokesman for the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said in a press release that the resumption of contacts with the hostage guards, which had been interrupted for several weeks, allowed it to be established that the woman was killed in an area of operations of the Israeli army in the north part of the Palestinian territory.
No details have been released about the date and place, identity of the victim or the circumstances of her death.
Contacted by AFP, the Israeli military said it was investigating the allegations.
During the unprecedented attack by the commandos of “Hamas” on October 7, 2023 251 people were kidnapped from Israeli soil. A total of 97 hostages remain in Gaza, 34 of whom have been declared dead by the army.
