UK Labor Secretary Liz Kendall said today that NATO countries are engaged in a "hidden cyber war" with Russia, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
Next week, her counterpart Pat McFadden will warn in a major speech that Russia is poised to launch a series of cyber attacks against Britain and other NATO members as it seeks to weaken support for Ukraine.
In an interview with TV “Sky News“ Kendall said McFadden was correct in saying that “there is not only an open military war with Russia as the aggressor, but also a covert cyber war, and Russia will do everything in its power to cause destabilization not only inside Ukraine but among the allies in NATO“.
Kendall added: “So we need to be extremely vigilant about this as a government, but also in business and society as a whole to protect ourselves from these cyber activists.

In a speech on Monday, Secretary of State McFadden is expected to outline details of how the UK will work to strengthen its defenses against emerging cyber threats, as well as how the country is strengthening its work with NATO allies.
McFadden and senior national security officials will meet with business leaders next week to discuss ways to protect against cyberattacks.
