Rumors in Kyiv! Media sacks Ukrainian intelligence chief - 1

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky's cabinet is again planning to remove the head of military intelligence Kyrylo Budanov and appoint someone "more loyal to the administration".

This was reported on Monday by The new voice of Ukraine, citing a source from the national security.

According to the source, Budanov's dismissal could happen in December. Zelenskyi's chief of staff Andriy Yermak and deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Alexander Poklad, are pushing for the change, with Poklad seeking to fill the seat.

Meanwhile, another source from the president's office noted that some of Budanov's public actions and statements have harmed Ukraine, including operations in Africa.

"There is objective reality and objectively wrong decisions, the source said. Should we be held responsible for this? President Volodymyr Zelensky will decide.

The editors have not been able to get an official comment from the president's office.

In a comment, the SBU press office denied plans to appoint Poklad as head. They stated that "rumors regarding the deputy head of the SBU appear systematically once a month and have a similar style.

The agency assured that these rumors are groundless.

Similar rumors appeared at the beginning of the year about the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. Later, after being reshuffled by Kiev, he was appointed ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain.

Zelensky appointed Alexander Sirski in his place.

In February, Zelensky awarded Zaluzhny and Budanov with the title Hero of Ukraine.
