Antalya was selected as the tourism city of the Islamic Eight (D-8, Developing Eight, D-8) in 2025, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism reported to BTA.
The decision was made at an online meeting of high-ranking representatives of the D-8, held in November. Antalya, which is among the favorite tourist centers worldwide, won the award “D-8 Tourism City for 2025“ and became the first city to receive this prestigious title, said the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Mehmet Nuri Ersoy on his social network account.

This award is an important step towards strengthening cooperation in the field of tourism between the D-8 countries and promoting cultural diversity, Ersoy said. He announced that in 2025, many events will be organized in Antalya, including cultural events, sports events, events related to gastronomy, music and theater.
