Ukraine could be forced to give up certain territories it considers its own in order to end the conflict in 2025. This assessment was made by the British newspaper The Daily Telegraph (DT).
According to him, such a deal “will guarantee peace and long-term independence” Ukraine.
At the same time, the newspaper adds that Kiev will consider the ceasefire pointless if it does not receive security guarantees. “They can only stop the fighting if there are security guarantees from the West,” said Sam Green, a professor at King's College London. - But there are no security guarantees on the table that work. The really important negotiations are those between Ukraine and the West. Until the West gives Ukraine NATO-style security guarantees - or full Article 5 membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization or something close to it - I don't see how we can get to a cessation of hostilities."
In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Russia is ready to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which includes recognizing the status of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as regions of Russia, consolidation of the non-aligned and non-nuclear status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and denazification, lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.
