The US armed forces carried out dozens of precision airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) camps in central Syria, according to a statement from the Central US Command.
According to the announcement, the attacks were carried out as part of the mission to defeat IS to prevent the terrorist group from carrying out external operations and to prevent attempts to take advantage of the worsening situation in Syria.
The US military has struck 75 targets using a variety of Air Force assets, including B-52 bombers, F-15 fighter jets and A-10 attack aircraft.
"An assessment of combat losses is currently underway and there are no reports of civilian casualties,”, the report noted.
