Mohammed Bashir said he had been appointed prime minister of the transitional government of Syria, until March 1, 2025, Reuters reported, quoting his statement on television, writes BTA.
Bashir led the rebel Salvation Government before the 12-day lightning offensive that reached Damascus, Reuters reports.
At the same time, the Syrian rebel command ordered its fighters to withdraw from the cities and to deploy police units and internal security forces linked to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. The information was obtained from two Reuters sources close to the rebels.
