The European Union must participate in the negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated by the High Representative of the EU for foreign policy and security Kaya Callas to the Spanish newspaper "Pais".
"I spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky about this and if there are any negotiations, the EU should be at the table. The implications for Europe would be clear if there is a possible agreement or negotiation. But such conversations do not take place," she noted.
Callas also warned of the risks if Western support for Ukraine declines, especially amid uncertainty about US policy under Donald Trump.
She stressed that EU aid is not charity but an investment in global security and called for united European action to maintain financial and military aid.
