A power outage affected most of Kenya on Monday, Reuters reported, citing the national electricity company, BTA reported.
This is the latest power outage in East Africa's largest economy in the past year, Reuters reports. The outage occurred at 2:00 GMT (4:00 Bulgarian time).
Kenya's national electricity company provides electricity to over 9.6 million customers, according to information on the company's website. The power outage has significantly reduced internet access in the country, global network monitor Netblox reported.
The outage also affected neighboring Tanzania, Netblox reported on the Ex platform. The Kenya Electricity Company announced that it will promptly inform consumers about the process of restoring power supply.
