A power outage affected most of Kenya on Monday, Reuters reported, citing the national electricity company.
It was the latest power outage in East Africa's largest economy in the past year, Reuters reported. The outage occurred at 2 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time (4 a.m. Bulgarian time).
Kenya's national electricity company provides electricity to over 9.6 million customers, according to information on the company's website.
The power outage has significantly reduced internet access in the country, global network monitor Netblox reported.
The outage has also affected neighboring Tanzania, Netblox reported on the Ex platform.
Kenya's electricity company announced that it will promptly inform customers about the process of restoring power.
